ABE #1: Color Me Mine

Art Block Execution Challenge #1:
Color Me Mine.

For your project, pick a color. It doesn’t have to be your favorite color though it may be the easiest and most pleasant to work with.

Then, research on it. My favorite reference is completely colorful on Tumblr but you can always just use Google image search.

Look at all the pictures, designs, and patterns that come up from the search engine. Then, come up with a colored image of your own!

The rule is you’re only allowed to use different shades of your chosen color, black, white, and a neutral earth tone [brown, tan ] . You’re not allowed to use other colors.

How does it kill art block?: It gives you limitations to work with- your brain comes up with all kinds of crazy ideas when it doesn’t have a lot of options.

Bonus points: Go on a field trip. Walk through town/ countryside/ forest/ places other than your house and take pictures of things that are your chosen color. Who knows what you may have overlooked before.

Then, use it for your art!

We love to see your completed ABEs! If you have a tumblr, you can post your ABE there (or Submit it to our blog!) and be sure to use our tags, #ABE, #TixNRoo, and #ArtBlockExecution. If you don’t have a tumblr, you can email them to us at abe@tiix-n-roo.com, or post a reply to this topic!
